Self Grading Quiz w/ Flubaroo

Recently I ran into this add on script that works with Google Forms called Flubaroo.  I found it extremely easy to use, and it didn't take much time to learn. The time I spent learning how to do this paid off on the first time I gave the kids a quiz.  The really nice part the teacher gets instant feedback to how students performed on the assessment, not only by student but by question as well.  This is huge for preparing your students for an exam.  Once the students take an assessment their results get automatically put into a Google spreadsheet when they hit submit. Flubarooo then grades the spread sheet, you can email the results back to the students. You can also easily see what questions they performed poorly on and address that particular question. This is AWESOME for preparing your students for high stake exams.

Here is how it works

1 Create a Quiz via Google forms
2  Install the Flubaroo Script (about 1 min)

3 Take the quiz yourself and instead of using your name fill in answer key
4. Once the spreadsheet has been populated run the flubaroo script

5. Email back grades if you wish or just look at the results.

Of course there are more steps involved, below you will find some of the most helpful videos that I have found to help you through the process. I used these videos to help me get through the process. Pause them as needed and take it one step at a time. Taking the time to learn this will pay off in the long run. One you are proficient at this you will find yourself using it during your daily lesson, ticket out the door, and as homework assignments.
Good Luck

Part 1 Setting up a Google Form
Part 2 Using Google Forms

So the only part missing from the videos is how to get your students to your google form. This can be done in a couple of ways.  If you have your own site you can embed it onto your site. You can email a link to the site to your students if you have their email addresses. You can also place a link on a document and place it in a shared folder that the students can access on the schools server. Some schools call this the Common Folder.  If you use these a lot you may want the IT department to place a folder on the students desk tops so they can access the form quickly.
