Technology Timeline Lesson / activity

Technological Time Line Presentation

The following assignment is given to help understand the history and rapid increase of technology.  This assignment is to be completed in groups of two.  Each group will receive a specific time period in which they will choose a technological invention.  Once the invention has been selected approval is needed from your teacher.  The group will then prepare a 5 min. presentation which will be given in front of the class.  Some time will be given in class to work on this presentation.  You will need to work on this presentation outside of school.  Make sure your partner can meet with you after school.

During presentation day each group will display their poster, while giving their presentation to the class via a power point presentation. You will find a grading rubric that you can give the students ahead of time so they know what is expected of them.

Once the presentations are complete post all the posters in historical order. This gives the students a great visual of how technology has evolved over time and creates a great timeline to display on your class room wall.
